The MGRC has arranged for and provides services to a room in the State Capitol for use by MGRC members to assist in their legislative efforts. The lobbyist room allows MGRC members to be more efficient and effective at the Capitol by providing on-site resources including desks, telephones, a copier, fax machines, computer printers, internet access, lockers and access to televised floor sessions and committee hearings.

MGRC 2010 Locker Rentals

As a continuing service to our members, MGRC will again offer locker rental during the legislative session at a cost of $50 for the session. Since unattended bags/briefcases and other materials are not to be left in the Capitol area, and property theft can be an issue, MGRC has made available for your use secured lockers in Room 315. Members who spend a lot of time in the Capitol area have found these lockers very beneficial rather than carrying their belongings with them all day.

Each individual locker measures about 15 inches wide, 18 inches deep, and 11 inches high – a size intended to accommodate a briefcase or laptop and to maximize the limited space available. Please refrain from using the large wardrobes in the main area of Room 315 for anything but coats and boots, and do not leave your laptop or other valuables unattended. It is your responsibility to clean out your locker at the end of each session as you may not have the same locker assignment for the following session. Anything left in the lockers will be disposed of.

Lockers will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may rent a second locker in the bottom row at a reduced rate of $25 for the session. Locker assignments will be based on the date/time your Locker Rental Registration Form, with payment, or your on-line registration is received (see form below).

A combination padlock issued by MGRC must be used to secure the lockers, and MGRC and House Staff retain the right of access to each locker, for security purposes. Lockers may not be sublet during the session. Lockers will be available for your use beginning January 15, 2010 – you will be notified the week prior of your locker number and combination.
