Comcast Government Affairs Professional Tasks: - Assist with franchise compliance and a variety of special projects. - Track and monitor franchise compliance matters, as well as support the overall administration of the franchising and government relations team. - Work proactively with other departments to ensure franchise compliance and to develop information for reports and as requested to meet deadlines. - Assist with communicating information to local government officials regarding franchise compliance, community service activities and business operations. - Prepare letters and reports as required by franchise agreements, including municipal notifications, pending rate changes and channel programming announcements. - Assist in coordinating and developing grassroots program(s) and the overall strategic plan for advocacy, including the creation and maintenance of the company action networks. - Monitor activities of local political jurisdictions. - Maintain public and government affairs databases in the system. - Assist with the budget planning process. - Prepare special, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required . - Resolve customer escalations and complaints. - Represent Company at local meetings and community events and establish positive, ongoing relationships with public officials and community partners. - Perform a wide variety of administrative functions including managing and maintaining databases, pulling reports, distributing contractual documents, preparing PowerPoint presentations, processing and arranging payment of invoices for sponsorships and contributions, arranging franchise fee and access fee payments, and other tasks as needed.

agenda through direct lobbying with the Minnesota Legislature, the Executive
branch, and with other stakeholder groups; participating in the development and

Assists MMA outreach managers with legislative outreach through member
engagement programs, including scheduling meetings at the Capitol with
Legislators and Association leaders, coordinating meetings with Association
members and legislators in the legislators home districts, and assisting
specialty societies in developing their legislative contact programs.
Personally fulfills legislative lobbying/monitoring contractual requirements
representing other physician organizations.
Directs the legislative activities for the organizations that contract for
lobbying services with the MMA.
Provides strategic advice to leaders of the contracting organizations
Writes legislative communications necessary to keep the contracting
organizations up to date on the legislative priorities of that organization.
Provides overall direction of MEDPAC to increase physician membership and raise
money for political action.

Education and
Experience
Bachelors degree in political science, public affairs, or other related field
required with at least 4+ years of lobbying or legislative experience, or a
combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Experience in health care policy and some direct lobbying experience preferred.
The SVP of Public Policy and Mission Advancement will serve on the chapters
senior leadership team and will be responsible for advancing the mission of the
chapter through strategic integration of public policy, activism, volunteer
engagement and programs and services for people with MS.
This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a political
engagement strategy with federal, state and local elected officials, regulatory
agencies and key policymakers that positively impacts people with MS. This
position will cultivate strong bipartisan relationships and elevate the
chapters agenda with state legislators, congressional delegation, other local
public officials, and government and health organizations. This position will
develop and facilitate all coalition activities of the chapter and engage and
support the chapter president and other departments in policy issues.
In addition, this position will also oversee the development and implementation
of a comprehensive public education and grassroots activism program that
organizes a multi-tiered grass roots network of consumer activists throughout
the state to bring forward client issues and best implement public policy
strategies.
This position will also provide leadership and direction and oversee the
programs department working in partnership with the Programs VP to ensure that
programs and services meet the needs of clients and professionals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
BA or BS in Political Science, Public Policy or Affairs or related field
At least seven years of work-related experience in the areas of public policy
development, grass roots organizing and mission advancement.
Knowledge of political, legislative and regulatory processes and demonstrated
ability to achieve legislative success.
Strong skills are required in the areas of staff and volunteer supervision and
leadership, oral and written communications, organization and project
management, budgeting and financial management and strategic/operational
planning.
Proven experience in public policy and grassroots organizing required with
outstanding ability to cultivate relationships, make policy change, and empower
people.
Executive Director - The Association of Minnesota Counties The Association of Minnesota Counties is seeking an Executive Director to serve as the chief administrative officer to the 22-member Board of Directors and provide overall direction and coordination of AMC programs. Responsible for a $1.9 million budget and 14 FTEs. Requires a bachelors degree in public administration, association management or related field, advanced degree desired, and five years progressive management experience in a public or non-profit sector agency or an association; legislative representation experience desired. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
